Who We Are
FTMarketWatch was founded by Greg, who became a licensed commodities trader in 1996. After 18 months on a trading floor watching far more people lose money than make it, he made the decision to walk away from short-term trading entirely and shift toward long-term, self-directed investing instead. He's managed his own portfolio ever since — across stocks, bonds, ETFs, and other asset classes — and built this site to teach the fundamentals he wishes had been explained to him clearly from the start.

The site's focus on long-term, evidence-based investing — and its caution around short-term trading, options, and leveraged products — comes directly from that early experience on a commodities floor.
